From all directions I-235 runs through the middle of Des Moines from either direction:
Sheslow Auditorium is on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, just west of the Varsity Theater on 25th Street, in the first block north of University Avenue. There are two entrances into Sheslow, on the east and west sides of the building. Sheslow is also physically joined to Old Main, with Sheslow being at the north end of the structure.
Free parking is available on the adjacent streets, and in the large parking lot immediately to the northeast of Sheslow off of 25th St.
If you are coming from the east side of Des Moines, take Interstate 235 westbound through the downtown area. Exit off the interstate at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway exit. At the 2nd stoplight, turn left onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, a one-way street, heading south. Go five blocks (3 stoplights), and turn left on Woodland Avenue. Keep heading east on Woodland Avenue five blocks, and Hoyt Sherman Place will be on your left-hand side, on the northwest corner of 15th Street and Woodland Avenue.
If you are coming from the west side of Des Moines, take Interstate 235 eastbound. Just before you reach the downtown area, you will exit off the interstate at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway exit. Turn right onto Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, heading south. Go four blocks (2 stoplights), and turn left on Woodland Avenue. Keep heading east on Woodland Avenue five blocks, and Hoyt Sherman Place will be on your left-hand side, on the northwest corner of 15th Street and Woodland Avenue.
Interstate 235 runs east and west through town, but it meets up with 35/80 at both ends. If you are coming from north or south of town, it is easy to find.

Guests will be subject to ticketing fees for online sales, phone orders and orders at our box office. Phone orders are subject to an addition $2.00 fee.

If you are a season ticket holder and would like to exchange your tickets for another performance, there is no exchange fee. Any ticket buyer is able to donate tickets back to the organization as a tax-deductible contribution. Please contact our office at (515) 280-4020 prior to the performance for exchange/donation options. We are not able to offer refunds.
Civic Music Association is proud to offer group rates for organizations, clubs, retirement communities and more! Groups of 10 or more receive 30% off all tickets. In addition, Civic Music Association will include a free ticket for the coordinator of the group. Please call our office at (515) 280-4020 to receive this discount.

Our audience is a valuable part of every performance. Here are some tips that will make everyone?s visit to Sheslow Auditorium even more enjoyable.
Please make it to your seat on time.
As a courtesy to all patrons, ushers will determine an appropriate time for latecomer seating. Thank you for your understanding.
Please be considerate of those around you.
The people sitting near you deserve to enjoy the performance as much as you do. Please try to unwrap all candies or cough drops prior to the beginning of the concert to limit distractions to other patrons.

Please make sure all electronic devices are turned off prior to the beginning of the concert.
Guests with Disabilities
Seating for guests with disabilities is available for all performances. Contact the Ticket Office at 515-280-4020.
Taking photographs and the use of recording devices are not allowed and are a violation of state and federal copyright laws. Tape and film will be confiscated.
Lost and Found
Lost and found items may be reported and claimed at the Box Office area. Following an event, please call (515) 271-2011 to inquire about any lost items.
There are coat racks in the lobby of Sheslow Auditorium. Civic Music Association is not responsible for loss of personal property.
Cancellations due to bad weather are typically not decided until hours before curtain time and will be announced by the media whenever possible. Guests may the Ticket Office at (515) 280-4020 for specific performance information.
Box Office Hours
The Box Office opens one hour prior to curtain time for performances.
Smoking is not allowed in Sheslow Auditorium. All Drake University buildings are entirely smoke-free.
